About
At The Design Build Showhouse, we believe that cabinetry should do more than just fill a space—it should transform it.
With decades of experience in custom woodworking and design, our team is passionate about creating beautiful, functional cabinetry tailored to how you live, work, and gather.
Our Founder, Ron Mayne of Mayne Construction LLC, built his 40-year reputation on precision craftsmanship, timeless design, and unmatched attention to detail.
Whether you’re dreaming of a chef’s kitchen, a spa-like bathroom, or a statement-making built-in, we collaborate with you to bring your vision to life—down to the last dovetail.
Every cabinet we build is made to order using high-quality materials, sustainable practices, and expert joinery techniques. We don’t believe in shortcuts—only in custom solutions that reflect your lifestyle, complement your home, and stand the test of time.
From initial consultation to final installation, our showroom and design team are here to guide you through the process with transparency, creativity, and care.
Let’s build something lasting—together.

You have a vision, and we bring it to life.
You have a problem, and we can fix it.
We are creative thinkers and problem solvers who love collaborating with clients.

Jacqueline deMontravel

General Manager/Designer
Jacqueline deMontravel is an editor and publisher of deMontravel Media. She directs the publications Darien Living and New Canaan Living, a venture she began based on her devotion to these communities.
deMontravel authored eight books, including Hers, The Vintage Table, and Vintage Vavoom: Decorating with One of a Kind Finds (Clarkson Potter, 2008). The women’s fiction series revolved around the heroine Emily Briggs (The Fabulous Emily Briggs, Kensington, 2004 and Escape from Bridezilla, Kensington, 2005). Her first book was 21st Century Etiquette (Lyons, 2001), which she wrote with Charlotte Ford, in addition to The Perfect Feet (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2003).
With decades of publishing experience, Jacqueline was the editor of Romantic Homes and editorial director of Beckett’s Lifestyle group, which publishes Victorian Homes, Cottages & Bungalows, Yum magazines, and special issues such as American Farm Style, Seaside Style, Cottage White, Happy Modern, and Rooms.
Formerly the editor of Country magazine, deMontravel held editor positions at Conde Nast's Self magazine and GQ. She has been a contributor to Hearst's Harper's Bazaar. She also worked on the launch of Oxygen Media’s Style website, Lucky, and Black Book magazine.
As a stylist, she prods the inherent design aesthetic of a home, fashion, or tablescape and nurtures it to show stylish personalization. She delivers on artistically styling a magazine-ready shot.
deMontravel prefers homes that have character and restoring them to a modern-day aesthetic, building on a classic foundation. She has renovated her 1950s Cape Cod beach house in East Hampton, New York, coastal cottages and Mid-century Laguna Beach homes in Southern California, and now an 1866 colonial in Darien, Connecticut.
